Julio Suarez

DOD & DOE Relations, CLP

Mr. Julio Suarez is an independent Technology Transfer & IP Management Consultant. He currently supports the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Army Research Laboratory (ARL), as well as New Horizons Foundation (NHF). Mr. Suarez provides a full range of technology transfer, transition and IP management services to the US Army Research Laboratory leveraging 18 years of Dept. of Defense (DoD) technology transfer experience. Areas of support include: providing SME knowledge on DoD technology transfer processes and regulations, conducting direct marketing and outreach efforts for ARL inventions/patents, providing guidance and negotiation support with regards to patent license applications, agreements, CRADAs, TSAs and other technology transfer agreement mechanisms.  Prior to his DoD Technology Transfer career, Mr. Suarez worked in the For-Profit Tradeshow industry. He has held senior executive positions with a number of existing and start-up tradeshow & sponsorship sales companies. In addition to P&L responsibilities, he has led several successful sales teams and helped create, launch and manage several B2B tradeshows throughout the US and Mexico in industries ranging from industrial products, welding, HVAC, and Information Technology. 

Mr. Suarez is a Certified Licensing Professional (CLP), has BS in Economics – Towson University (cum laude) and served as a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) NCO in the US Army and US Army Reserves.
