Due to New Horizon Foundation’s (NHF) agreement with federal laboratories, a Lea County manufacturer will begin utilizing Department of Defense (DoD) technologies and capabilities in a locally-based, existing manufacturing facility.
The technology being put to work in this local, Lea County company is tied to the ever-growing area of ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING & REPAIR through the reverse engineering of components. A leading-edge technology – here in Hobbs, NM.
NHF has agreements with the United States Army Armament Research, Development & Engineering Center allowing Lea County companies to utilize the Additive Manufacturing and Reverse Engineering capabilities of the labs, among many other technologies.
This local manufacturer decided to purchase a DoD-designed machine for use locally and will work with the federal labs and their experts to refine and utilize new applications for the technology in his business.
New Horizons, via its agreements, will facilitate ongoing joint research and training capabilities between the manufacturer and the labs at the Army Research Laboratories – keeping intellectual property and new products and applications in Lea County.
This is just one example of how New Horizons Foundation is helping Lea County companies innovate and continue to grow, helping to create local jobs.
